I'm a developer primarily focused on building backend systems, with an emphasis on maintainability, problem solving, security, and reliable architecture. I'm also comfortable working on frontend development and continue to develop my skills in that area, but backend engineering is where my strongest experience and interests lie.
I studied Computer Science at school for two years, covering programming alongside the foundations behind modern computing. This included networking and client-server architecture, databases and SQL, computer hardware and CPU fundamentals, and how programming languages and computer systems work beneath the abstractions developers normally use. The course also covered cybersecurity, including malware, common attack methods, security vulnerabilities, and how software, systems, and organisations can be designed to prevent and defend against them.
Alongside my formal education, I've continued learning independently, working with languages including Luau, Python, C++, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, as well as HTML and CSS. Most of my practical experience has come from applying them to projects and solving problems independently as they arise.
I enjoy solving problems that require more than simply making something work. A large part of my development experience has been learning how to structure systems so they remain understandable, secure, and maintainable as they grow.
Through projects like Convergence, I've gained practical experience building multiplayer systems, networking, API pipelines, modular architecture, error handling, anti-cheat systems, and systems designed around reliable and competitive gameplay.
